Amazon Travel finds to elevate your next trip!
Amazon.
If you’re anything like me, you go to Amazon for virtually anything.
Need new chargers? Amazon. Have a beach day planned this weekend and no swimsuit? Amazon. It’ll be here by Friday! Forgot about your best friend’s brother’s wife’s baby shower on Saturday that you have yet to get a gift for? Amazooooon, they’ve got those pre-packaged baby shower gifts all done up for you!
This incredibly successful international marketplace has virtually anything you could ever need, and they can even ship it to you that day in some cases! In a modern day society that highly values convenience, Amazon is a dream come true.
So, if you’re an avid Amazon shopper (or if you’re not yet, you probably will be 😉) here are some awesome products they offer that will take your next trip to a new level! 📈
Luggage scale ⚖️
It’s happened to the best of us. You pack your suitcase up meticulously, evenly distributing all of you and your family’s essentials, and you even tested it on the weight scale at home! Juuuust under 50 pounds. You’re good, right?
Wrong.
You plop Mr. suitcase onto the scale at the check-in counter, and miraculously on the drive over, he’s gained 3 pounds.
Now its either pay $150 extra dollars for the overweight fee, or open up your suitcase in front of everyone at the airport, and try to distribute the weight between your purses and carry-ons! It’s stressful, its awkward, and now everyone knows you prefer tighty-whities over boxer shorts.
Something that can really help with avoiding the above mentioned situation would be a luggage scale! I didn’t even know these existed until last year, but maaaaaan are they a lifesaver.
It’s simple: Press the button to turn it on, hook the loop around a handle on your bag, and lift! It’ll tell you exactly how much it weighs, so you know whether or not you have the liberty to pack that extra pair of tighty-whities, confidently. Linked below is our top pick! 👇

2. Carry on backpack 🎒
Personally, as a solo female traveler, I like to bypass all the hassle of checking suitcases and weight restrictions and just bring a carry on with me on all my trips! I know this isn’t feasible for many travelers (i.e. if you have a large family, have special items you need to bring with you, etc.) but if at all possible, just traveling with a carry on is the way to go.
Technically there are still weight requirements when traveling with a carry on, but uh…..
Let me let you in on a little secret 🤫
(DISCLAIMER: This will not apply for some airports or airlines that are very strict on checking the weight for any and all hand luggage before boarding)
STEP 1: Check into your flight on your phone. Select that you only have hand luggage. You will be issued your boarding pass. STEP 2: Once you get to the airport, you can bypass the luggage check in lines and head straight to security, where rarely if ever they weigh your carry on. They really just want to make sure you don’t have any explosives 😂🤷♀️
Once you’re through security, find your gate and wait for take off! Its that easy! No one will ever know you’re stowing away an extra 2 pounds in your carry on.
Airlines do warn that if you do this, there’s a chance they’ll check the weight at the gate, and if its overweight they’ll charge you a fee and check it anyways. But so far, personally, I have done this countless times and not once has it happened. Worth a shot, right?
Now you can really use any carry on, but personally I think backpack form is best. It’s really not a great start to your trip having to lug a roller case up a steep cobblestone street to your Airbnb, when it could have just been on your back the whole time! Linked below is the one I personally used recently on my trip to Amsterdam! 👇
Carry on Backpack, $47.99
3. Portable charger ⚡
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. GET 👏 YOURSELF 👏 A 👏 PORTABLE 👏 CHARGER! 👏 I promise you won’t regret it. Nowadays we have virtually everything on our phones, and when on vacation, that’s where we keep most of what need! Our flight information, maps, GPS, translating and transportation apps, etc. And if you book a trip with us, we upload your whole trip itinerary (including boarding passes, confirmation numbers, city guides, tour info, maps, really anything and everything) to our travel app. While its really convenient to have it all right at your fingertips, it would be catastrophic for your phone to die and not have access to any of that.
Solve the issue by snagging yourself a portable charger! Not only can you charge your phone, but you can charge your iPad, your speaker, your computer, your headphones, anything! Buy yourself the confidence of knowing you’ll always have access to your devices and essentials while you’re out and about. Here’s the one we recommend:
ANOUV Portable Charger with Built in Cables, $19.99
4. Tripod 📸
This is a find I only recently discovered! As mentioned before, I went on a solo trip to Amsterdam. Personally, taking good pictures on a trip are absolutely essential. They’re little mementos that you’ll look back on and smile at, special little memories you’ll keep forever. But how was I going to take good pictures of myself when it was just me, myself and I?
Well, I found the perfect solution. After scouring the internet and watching countless youtube videos on self-portraits and photography, I came across tripods. More specifically, the ones that connect to your phone!
Its simple: Put your phone into the tripod holder, turn on the Bluetooth clicker and connect it to your phone, open up the folded tripod legs and position it where you want, and start taking your pictures! No need to awkwardly ask a random stranger to take your photo, and act like the blurry off center snap they got is “Just perfect! 😀👍” when you get it back 😂
If you want to see some example photos of some pics I took on my own, just me and the tripod, check out our Instagram or Facebook page! Linked below is the tripod I used 👇
Sensyne 62" Phone Tripod & Selfie Stick, $15.98
5. Tube travel pillow 😴
Now this is one of my favorite finds! This is a really cool travel hack that I wouldn’t have ever thought of on my own, but some smarty pants traveler did. Basically, you’re able to pack some extra small clothing (maybe a few extra shirts, scarves, etc.) into this tube travel pillow, zip it up, and bring it with you on the plane just like that! Voila! You’ve got neck support for your flight, and that really cute beret you just had to bring with you to Paris. I’ve linked below my top pick 👇
